Tell us about your company and how it became.
For many years, Chef Rand Packer, formerly the Executive Chef at Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion has been filling a unique gap in Tampa’s culinary scene. First, with Mekenita Mexican Grille, a Pacific Fresh style to Mexican cuisine that is authentic and incomparable to any other Mexican restaurant in the area - and now, with K4 CATERING. K4 Catering is a premier, full service catering company that focuses on creating one-of-a-kind, unforgettable culinary experiences.
How would you describe your product/service design style?
K4 Catering does not have one specific style, we like the challenge of reinventing our menus based on our clients style and preferences.
How is your personality showcased in your company?
Our team is very passionate and that definitely shows in the dishes we create; always using fresh, high quality ingredients and creative presentations.
Tell us about your first order.
Our first catering order was for 200 guests, they didn't care what was served, they trusted Chef Rand's culinary capabilities and let him choose the menu. The client was thrilled and we still cater for them to this day.
What makes your product/service different than your competitors?
For starters, we do not specialize in a specific type of cuisine. Our team has prepared anything and everything from Indian Cuisine to Farm to Table, from a full course dinner for 20, a seated dinner for 700, to a multi-day event of 2,500 - always innovative and dimensional. K4 Catering brings that fine dining restaurant experience to any event! Basically we are a traveling fine dining restaurant without walls. Another big difference with K4 Catering is our team, our clients always comment on our service style being superior.
Any upcoming excitement for your company?
We are excited to continue to grow! Our Chef has been catering for 15 years, K4 Catering is a new creative outlet that lets him express and utilize his fine dining techniques. We have built an outstanding team, gained some fantastic new clients and the year ahead is sure to be a fabulous success!
What is your favorite part of the wedding planning process?
Weddings are the perfect gathering of our clients' most important friends and family. The cuisine served has to be amazing, it's the one detail that every guest gets to enjoy and partake and we are honored to be the catering company to make sure it's PERFECT! We love that our brides and grooms can select their catering well advance to their wedding date and never have to worry about it again.
What are some trends that you are seeing this year?
Brunch events, interactive food and dessert stations (no more chafers!), fun drinks and fresh juices.
What is one tip to stay on budget?
Secure your big purchase items first so you know what remains in budget for the little details.
What is one overall piece of advice you would give to brides?
Surround yourself with event details that show you and your fiance's style. You will feel comfortable in the environment you've created and your guests get to know you both a little better. As your caterer we love the opportunity to create your favorite flavors!!
